You can choose to use the dataset for Albert Park in Victoria Australia. Alternatively, you can choose to use open source data for other parks you know. If you choose this latter option, you can sell your app via the App Store after entering it in this competition.

The submission date for this competition has been extended to tie in with the Healthy Parks Healthy People Congress 2010. Entries now close 19 March 2010. Winners of this competition will be announced and showcased at the Healthy Parks Healthy People Congress on 11-16 April 2010.
Parks Victoria will take care of promoting winning apps via the app store… of course paying attention to mentioning the developer!

Welcome to the World Parks Day Apps Competition.
Do you have what it takes to be one of the first in the world to mash up parks data and create an iPhone app? You could win cash and have your app promoted by park agencies across the globe.
‘World Parks App Competition’ will reward the innovative uses of mobile technologies for international development. Up to $AUD5,000 for winning developers is on offer. Parks Victoria and other park agencies have made some basic data available and your entry should focus on health and wellbeing themes. Entries close 31 December 2009.
